Our Story
Île Restaurant was born from inspiration drawn from the essence of Ilhabela, a paradise where the sea meets exceptional gastronomy.
The name, which means “island” in French, honors the journey of the renowned Chef Tonhão, a beloved figure and a reference in local cuisine.
Passionate about the flavors of his homeland, the chef embarked on a journey of refinement in France, where he expanded his techniques and discovered new ways to celebrate ingredients with sophistication and authenticity.
From this experience emerged the concept of Île: combining the lightness and freshness of Caiçara cuisine with the refinement of French gastronomy.
Even while currently residing in France, Chef Tonhão remains the soul and inspiration of this restaurant, a place that honors its roots and invites guests and visitors to enjoy the best of two worlds, with charm, warmth, and elegance.
